The Gallery
NB: The text below relates to our gallery in 4 rue Quentin Bauchart, occupied from 2006 to 2015.
Galerie Peirce opened in June 2006 and since then has developed a dynamic policy of Exhibitions in the Gallery and in Art Fairs, developing a network of art collectors that support it and show their confidence.
The Gallery is situated in the Golden Triangle of Paris, just behind the Hotel George V and so very accessible by car metro and bus. The characteristics of the gallery and the fact of being being off-street lend it a sort of confidential feeling, much appreciated.
The Gallery is essentially concentrated on historic artists of end XIXth and XXth centuries. All techniques are appreciated and shown and the main criteria in selecting works is the intrinsic quality of the work and it’s condition and provenance.
Significant and lesser artists are shown, and the Gallery is at home with abstract as with figurative works.
Gallery activities now centre around the Summer Show, just before the summer break, and the Winter Show, shortly before Christmas, with special exhibitions when appropriate.

The Gallery Owner
Robert Peirce, South African in origin, is a transfuge from industry, having a long experience in management positions in major French companies.
The changeover was natural though and followed a long period of preparation, including a full year of intensive study.
His passion for art, his sense of humour and his rigourous management give him a specific position amongst the Paris art galleries. His main intention is to share his passion and discoveries with collectors and to be of service to them, either in selling of in buying works.
The collections:
Works presented in Gallery Peirce can be divided between two very distinct collections:
- A collection of lovely works by Emmanuel de La Villéon, virtually all coming from members of the extended family
- A collection of other artists from the XIXth and XXth centuries
The Gallery has a very special position concerning La Villéon, and Robert Peirce has become the expert in France on his works. The Gallery has organized four exhibitions of works by this excellent artist, was instrumental in organizing a major all-day Seminar on the artist, his life and works in Fougères, Brittany in May 2014 (where there is a Museum dedicated to Emmanuel de la Villéon). Robert Peirce has created a data base of all known works by the artist (over 4000) and, together with a descendant of the artist, has launched an update of the existing Catalogue Raisonné.
